I must admit I use this summer holiday time to do more varied things, especially thought wise as to the bigger picture &#8211; this year&#8217;s work!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So distractions abounded, and one was a few evening photo trips with my good mate Roger Wandless.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>We headed east from Wanaka in search of suitable grist for the mill of landscape photography, and found ourselves visiting a few side-roads near Tarras, 20 mins. drive from Wanaka. This stopping place gave us a unique view of the Grandview Mountains&#8230;<\/em><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/lh3.googleusercontent.com\/blogger_img_proxy\/AAOd8MzAbsx_aBYP_OPF_0kxgVEDAyjI-4Oo4HvJ9KfWSJ7a0xJDojGn-jOpfZnZg2hzfhgKby7sNWi-0wZcvCx-ij6N19idWdbatvxVgIl7qfjtn4Dhv2I4F0KwHa6aT2VcBb6eWP603uc8tDkW=s0-d\" alt=\"Tarras 1\" width=\"455\" height=\"201\"><em>The north Dunstan Range&#8230;<\/em><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/lh3.googleusercontent.com\/blogger_img_proxy\/AAOd8MwwlDtOkF2Q17LN3sc-bMyDUN1ZGi4dd_oh4Ii6lKdL8N_zpV-3XNIW6_UX2DeaGq4y381Yj1AAoZSBVQVzbzmGJ0tdP51xl_8V18uZfDhmEWiY9xINjtcHooSQozVJip13YsJUd0lDB-9e5g=s0-d\" alt=\"Tarras 25\" width=\"455\" height=\"306\"><em>The Lindis River Valley as it sort of meanders to meet the Clutha at Lake Dunstan. These truncated terraces have intrigued me for years, and I&#8217;ve yet to get the definitive photograph of them that meets some, as yet hidden aspect of my mind&#8230;<\/em><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/lh3.googleusercontent.com\/blogger_img_proxy\/AAOd8Mwei2Zkf_-oMOD22zsH4CkneSaZwQCLjQqZvz6a5ke1ArL2TRwP8G8hRJHoEwf5i2YP-hdX9uvn-WSiO6W1WZjIEOtsBjYWZdGOFgvDR0TnAoRjgnFeapC9gt2zRqWTs8sLvzc57H8Jdpuk_g=s0-d\" alt=\"Tarras 23\" width=\"455\" height=\"145\"><em>North to the mighty Saint Bathans Range.
